Please join us on Wednesday, November 29th at 6:30 PM for our next Peace of Mind Lecture

New Developments in Surgery and the Use of the RNS Device

This Peace of Mind Lecture aims to encompass brief but comprehensive overviews of currently available surgical interventions for medically refractory epilepsy, with a particular focus on newer therapies such as the responsive neurostimulator system (RNS) and MRI-guided laser ablation.  The talk will define refractory epilepsy and explain who are surgical candidates, describe the mechanisms of these therapies, as well as expound upon the clinical considerations that are made during a comprehensive presurgical evaluation, and when selecting and tailoring the appropriate surgical intervention for individual patients.
